EXCEPT, GUYS. I haven't written anything in a long while. I know I've always needed to polish my work, but it's been so LONG I don't know if I remember how to make myself sit down and write. Sob.
Any ideas? Either on how it gets started, or whatever else? I'm tempted to make this part of NaNoWriMo, so. ...AH, IT'S OCTOBER, WAY TO START THIS SUPER-LATE SELF, GFDI. D:

I should know better than to put the Ohana spoilers through google translate. I should. Apparently, I don't.
Actually, even the properly translated spoilers are great. From the elbows? WTF? Looking forward to this chapter! :D
And I finally got my thesis defense out of the way, which is a wonderful feeling. As worried as I am about the rest of, well, everything, there's still exams to prep for, so. Off I go!
Which really just means I need a new way of procrastinating. AKA, I have episodes 74 to 178 of KHR with me, episodes 1 to 24 of xxxHoLiC, and can potentially download some more anime if anyone wants. And now have a livestream account, thank you 12 hour YGO 5Ds marathon. (Bruuuunoooooo!) If anyone wants me to stream anything?
Mm, also, there's a movie I recently watched called Lost City Raiders. I can't give you an accurate review besides:
- Ninja Priest!
- Laughing too hard, hurt stomach
- Epicly ultimate B-rate movie :D
...go watch it? XD

Thanks, world. Maybe I do still have faith in you.
So this is, what, the nth time that Harper's Conservatives have gotten called on something? At least people finally got in gear and passed non-confidence, God. And first time ever an entire government has been found in contempt. One thing I will say about the Conservatives is that they take lessons from Vongola. When they do something, dumb, illegal, or otherwise, they don't pull their punches.

- Tue, 20:34: So @rickmercer is visiting Espanola by way of Sudbury. For a good cause, of course, but I'm still taking bets about fame-seekers popping up.
- Tue, 20:35: Going back and forth between TV, ACB, and something called "Lost City Raiders". One of those movies you don't hear much about. For a reason.

First of all, I'm so behind on both comments and flist. I APOLOGIZE. Life has been steadily eating all my time, though admittedly a lot of it is my own fault. (Three coats, the Yuuko suit, two different polonaise and a multi-layered kimono, aka at least three separate actual kimonos layered. Why did I think this was a good idea?) Give me a couple hours to actually do grocery for the first time in three weeks (ramen, how would I live without you?), and then there will be replies! And comments! And then I can get back to being an idiot and filling my life with too many things at once.
And then there is this thing.
God. I don’t even know. This is what happens when I spend hours and hours and HOURS working on a stupid map for a stupid WIP. That I love to little bits.
No, this has nothing to do with geography. Just a mental image I’ve had stuck in my head for about forever and won’t. Leave. And was largely the influence for the actual architecture of this city. (I’m putting this much effort into something that will probably never see the light of day. Ahahaha whut? I totally have my priorities straight.)
So. 330. Howsabout them apples, eh?

Title: Stonemason
Series: Katekyo Hitman Reborn
Rating: R. M. Basically NC-17 without incredibly explicit details. Um. @dreamwidth, which tells you something.
Characters: Sawada Tsunayoshi, Giotto/Ieyatsu
Pairings: 27G, G27
Warnings: Um. Lots? Insanity, ergo torture, rape, mentions of dismemberment, decapitation, disembowelment, bloodletting, slight vampirism, and some fairly morally ambiguous fun times. There would be murder if I could work it in, but. It's kind of hard to kill someone who is already dead?
Notes: As stated, WTH DID I JUST WRITE. Also, the 27G/G27 was as much a surprise to me, considering. I was wondering how to add more squick without adding lots more squick. And then my fingers typed. I don't even. D:
Summary: Vongola walks a fine line between sanity and insanity. Or they appear to, at least. And the process of breaking someone is long and arduous, even when insanity itself isn't the goal.
( You've been asleep for a long time, Tsunayoshi. )

Before I post my results: WTH, QUIZ. Asking "Earth versus Sky" is NOT a question you ask someone who knows anything about KHR. NOT. FAIR. Also: wow, this quiz. Considering you choose basically which of two things appeals to you more, I was so surprised by what I ended up choosing half the time. Still, thinking about it, it's pretty much accurate--both what I chose (acceptance versus expression was acceptance; life or history was history; etcetera), and my result. Though I'm not sure if I'm actually all that elegant. Huh.

EDIT: George Takei, you are one classy, upstanding man. Never have I loved you more. Takei's Japan PSA; spread it around! At the same time, and I feel so guilty for thinking this BUT: considering the title, I couldn't help but picture Lambo with tears in his eyes the entire time. :S GAMAN.
Looking around the internet, I am forever impressed and nearly (and often) brought to tears by not only the strength of the Japanese people, their resilience and their willingness to give aid even when they themselves have very little to give, but also by the general response from around the world. It feels different from Haiti, from Hurricane Katrina, from the other many and various earthquake and tsunami disasters that happen so frequently in the Ring of Fire and around the Pacific Rim.
I think, perhaps, the different tone is because that while everyone wants to help (even ignoring the humanitarian factors, Japan is such a center of technology, culture and innovation), there's also a sense that the Japanese people are strong. That they have suffered this horrible tragedy, and yes, they need help, but that instead of relying solely on international relief efforts they are doing what they can and only using those donations to augment what they have in place, not depending solely on external aid. It's beautiful and wonderful that an entire country can come together so completely, so efficiently.
That's not to say that they don't need help--after what happened and the resulting destruction, every cent counts. It won't bring back what has been lost, but it can help to support those who have been left behind.
On both of those notes, here is a journal entry from behindinfinity, a well-known cosplayer and artist. It both provides links to some of the most emotional and heart-warming stories, as well as various certified organizations that one can donate to.
Also, a big kudos and props to everyone on livejournal (
help_japan , I'm looking at you among others) and deviantArt who have set up auctions and other ways to help out. And a shout-out to the International Club at LU who have set up a clothes-a-thon drive to raise funds, too. (Raise money, they clothe you in traditional clothes and/or completely style-defunct outfits which you wear all day, often making a fool of yourself for everyone to see. I've done it--it's a great time. XD)
And finally, shout outs to everyone who are simply following and giving this their attention. It's all too easy to forget about something after it's no longer a headline in the news (look at Haiti). Let's make sure that we--and world governments--don't drop the ball on this one, too.

Hm. This is probably going to sound incredibly random, but:
Anyone know any history about Tug Hill/the Tug Hill Plateau/Whetstone Gulf Park in New York State? I've been looking through both online sites and various history texts, but haven't found anything of note.
Apparently the park itself is the area surrounding a gorge, and besides getting some insane amounts of snowfall it (and the area around Tug Hill) doesn't seem to have very much to find when looking for information. I've even gone with Britanica and Encarta, and they don't say much aside from, again, some interesting geographical and meteorological data.
To be more specific, I'm looking at this interesting feature here: +43° 39' 15.87", -75° 27' 12.48". It... appears to... well, it looks like a giant hole. One that I more commonly associate with the entrances to underground caves in the Caribbean. (There was a National Geographic Article about these types of caves not too long ago...? Mostly about underwater caves, and the biology therein, but. This is OT?) Or, comparing it to google's resolutions of bodies of water nearby, might be a small-ish lake/large-ish pond. Um.
...or, apparently Assassin's Creed has the coordinates as "43 39 19 N 75 27 42 W". Whichever is easier for you to find.
(God, I do more research for games than I do for actual work. I think this says something about me.)
Also, tempted to start a game for geography geeks. And even those who aren't. Sort of a "get to know your world" kind of game. Anyone interested?

You know that meme where you put your playlist on shuffle, write down the titles of the first ten/fifteen/twenty/however many tracks that pop up and then add "in my/your pants" to the end of them?
Reread KHR! and pick various lines people speak--literally, just about any line--and first of all, look at it out of context. If you choose a good one, that's funny enough by itself. Now add "in my/your pants" (depending on the line's grammar, aka whatever sounds better) to the end of the quote.
See? Fun!
For example, KHR!M-101: Belphegor versus Gokudera Hayato. Page 11.
Gokudera says: "Why didn't I understand at all?! Let's do it!! Please let me!!" (So assertive, Gokkyun.)
And then: "...Let's do it!! Please let me [be/get] in your pants!!" ...XD
Because completely changing the meaning of what people say is always fun.

There's a post at
hitman_reborn about donating to
help_japan (and others), and another one regarding the status of all khr-related peoples. I don't like to get into conflicts and so I stayed out of the argument/debate going on in the comments of the latter, but. I'm sorry. This is probably going to end up open-letter style, one that will likely never reach its recipient. Ack.
( Edited in a cut to save your friends page. Not that long, but textwall-y enough. )
[And I was able to get in touch with Satoshi. He's fine, lives just outside of Kyoto. Jun, according to the person I was able to contact, has been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, though beyond that I know nothing more. Though Satoshi was joking about how he'd have to clear out most of his family's home since Jun would probably want to move away from Hokkaido and further away from a major fault line.]

FFFFFFFF. I'm tempted to do what esama does and write down everything I can for my plunnies, then go and post what is written with an "these are ideas; they might be continued; if you want to play with them, feel free to ask". That way I won't feel like I'm being unproductive when I'm writing them out, while simultaneously getting all the other plunnies out of my head and allowing myself some brain power to work on the things that I really want to work on.
Also, thoughts and prayers going out to Japan. During Discovery's landing there was a live tweet chat and I was talking with some people from Japan. Apparently there was an earthquake there about 20 minutes or so after Discovery landed, and after it was confirmed to be a small one, everyone was joking around about how bad it would have been if it had been a big one, what a "welcome home" to Discovery and the astronauts, and think of all the damage a stronger earthquake could do!
...and then this happens. I think this is the world saying to "keep your traps shut" and "don't question things". Or you will be screwed.
Love, warm wishes and support to all our Japanese (and Ring of Fire) friends who might be caught up in this. For an easy donation, text REDCROSS to 90999, and $10 will be donated to relief efforts (thank you, Grant Imahara and George Takei over at twitter).

( A normal day for meco, including all the rampant stupidity and knee-jerk reactions that it involves. )
Or: I think of horrible, horrible things instead of doing my work and plotting out the, er, plots for writing. If anyone wants to switch brains with me, I'd be more than happy to do so.
